Obituary for Sandra Jean Zern

Sandra Jean Zern passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024. She was born on January 8, 1936 in Fenton,

Iowa. She was the first of five children of Dora and Leo Lampe. She is survived by her five children,

Rochelle Hackett (spouse, John R. Hackett); Colette Sears; Sherwood Zern (spouse, Linda Zern); Jon David

Zern (spouse, Laura Zern) and Patricia Joyce (spouse, Frank Joyce). Other living relatives include her sister,

Gloria Hunt, of Homosassa, Cheryl Webb of Winter Park, Florida, and Mike Lampe of Orlando, Florida. She

is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

She graduated from Winter Park High School and later married Jon Zern to whom she was married for 66

years. During their marriage they enjoyed camping and hiking throughout the United States, loved to

dance, but more importantly they loved each other and made each other laugh. Above all, she loved and

admired her family. Sandra was in the truest sense a “mom”, a hard worker, and selfless.

She always had a smile for everyone and made people feel wanted and accepted. Her desire to live life

to the fullest will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her, especially her friends with Bingo Babes,

pickleball team, bowling team, and all those that knew her in Palm Valley. The times with her friends in

Palm Valley were some of the best in her life. The family is greatly comforted by the certain knowledge

that Sandra is now as she has always been in the loving arms of his Lord. The family also wishes to express

its deep appreciation for the love, support and comfort which were provided to Sandra and her family.

Service to be announced at a later time.
