SHARON ELAINE MORRIS, 72, of WINTER SPRINGS, Florida, passed away on 11 December, 2023. She was born to parents NORMAN MANILOFF and RUTH MANILOFF, on 04 March 1951 in TAUNTON , MASSACHUSETTS.
Sharon grew up in near Austin, Texas. As a little girl, she was the kind of child who was always sweet and kind, full of life and happiness. She played the piano and the cello, enjoyed spending time with her parents and big brother, Robert. Growing up she decided to answer her calling to help others and became a Registered nurse in the specialty of Gynecology and Obstetrics. For 35 years, Sharon helped countless mothers and babies through her knowledge, skills, compassion, but especially through her loving care.
Additionally, she dedicated many years of her life to help victims of domestic violence and abuse. Sharon offered education, food and even shelter to anyone who needed it; regardless of age, background, or religion. In her 50’s, she had become an active volunteer at the Seminole County Guardian Ad Litem Program, advocating for children and their right to have a safe and happy childhood. That was the kind of person Sharon was.
In the year 2012 she retired early in order to become an active caregiver for her grandchildren. Sharon was a selfless and loving mother, an easy-going friend, an endless source of affection to all who knew her, especially to her family and her pets: Roscoe & Charlie and Sherman. They rarely left her side. They would enjoy a good movie or a nice walk in the neighborhood, “my little men”, she would call them. Some of Sharon’s hobbies included dermatological skin care, meta-physics and even looking for “treasures” with her metal detector, as she would bring the grandchildren to find such. Movie nights with the little ones, was something she truly enjoyed.
Sharon was an amazing woman who always had an open Heart and home for anyone in need, and there was nothing she would not do for her family.
SHARON is survived by two Sons, Marvin & Johnny Thurman; as well as her grand kids: Chris, Samantha, Joshua and Ariel Thurman, and a daughter in-law Jossie Thurman who will always love and remember the beautiful soul she is, and who will embrace her legacy of love, selflessness and forgiveness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Abused Children (SCFAC), which work in Connection with the Guardian ad Litem program of Seminole County, Florida. You can donate by going to www.friendsofabusedchildren.com, as they are aware of Sharon’s wishes.
