Obituary for Sharon Lee Holt
Sharon Lee (Hunter) Holt passed away peacefully in her own home on March 28 at the age of 77.  She was born May 8, 1935 in Wichita, Kansas, but moved with her family at a young age to Clinton, Iowa, which she always considered her true ‘home town’. Sharon moved to Florida with her family in 1957, an event that was quickly followed by marriage and motherhood. Unfortunately, the relationship was not destined to last and, after her divorce in 1963, she returned to nursing school. Within a couple of years, she attained her RN degree, and began what was to be a long career as an extremely capable and dedicated OR nurse. In June 1970, she remarried her old Clinton high-school sweetheart Lynton “Bill” Holt, who preceded her in death almost exactly four years to the day.  Sharon was a warm, outgoing woman who loved to be around other people. She had a beautiful voice and adored music. In her younger years, she occasionally sang on the radio and, was involved in different choirs at various times in her life. Even at the very end of her life, there was nothing she loved more than a ‘Sound of Music Sing-a-long’ with a room full of family and friends.  Sharon also loved traveling and experiencing new places. She got a great deal of opportunity to do so when attending exhibition trade fairs around the U.S. with her husband to promote the “Holt’s Hobbies” toy soldier business which they ran together. But Sharon went much further afield as well, when visiting her eldest daughter who lived in the Netherlands. Every one of her numerous trips to Holland was just a start-off point for explorations to a wide range of European cities and regions: Paris, Rome, Vienna, Krakow, Nice, Monte Carlo, Tuscany, the Alps and Provence: She only became a ‘world traveler’ rather late in life, but enjoyed it all the more because of that.  Sharon is survived by her sisters Bette Lamberti, Susan Domorski and Mary Ellen Rivera; her children Karen Holt, Steven Holt and Kathleen Seaton; grandchildren Tessa Francavilla, Justin Barfield and Alicia Seaton; great-grandchildren Jaylin Pizzaro, Gianna Francavilla, Vincent Leon, and Elijah, Sierra and Amaya Barfield; nine nieces and nephews: 12 great-nieces and nephews – to all of whom “Nonnie” was the undisputed matriarch of the Hunter clan, and by all of whom she will be greatly missed.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4, 2013, 9:30 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs with Reverend Stephen Baumann officiating.  Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
