Shirley Jarelis Alvelo, age 24, from Sanford, Florida, gained her wings on October 21, 2025. She was born in Orlando, FL to Jose Alvelo and Marilin Diaz on November 26, 2000.
She is survived by her beautiful daughter, Athena who was her pride and joy and who will forever be her legacy, a reminder of the love and light she brought into the world. Her mother Marilin Diaz, her father Jose Alvelo, her step mom Carmen Alvelo Marty, her 5 siblings - Joshua Alvelo, Ashley Alvelo, Sheyla Alvelo, Mariah Vazquez and Jayden Vazquez.
She was more than a mother, daughter, and friend — she was a piece of our family we have lost, that we cannot replace. She was a free spirit who touched everyone who had the joy of knowing her and was authentically herself. She brought laughter everywhere she went and had a smile that would brighten up your day. A beautiful soul who gave love without limits and who was deeply loved. She was a loving and caring soul who not only wanted what was best for herself, but for others as well. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave and the memories we hold will stay in our hearts forever.
