Stephen Gerard Robinson, lovingly known as Papa, Bird, and most recently Mr. Steve, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, in Lake Mary, FL, at the age of 73.
Born in Oak Ridge, TN, on April 23, 1951, Stephen was the beloved son of Joseph and Ruth Robinson. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, and friend. On June 5, 1971, he married the love of his life, Cynthia “Cindy” Robinson, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and family.
Stephen was a proud graduate of Nova Southeastern University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education. He worked tirelessly in various roles to support his family before discovering his true passion: working with children. As a school bus driver and later a teacher’s assistant, mentor, and tutor at All Souls Catholic School, he made a lasting impact on countless young lives. His patience, kindness, and ability to bring out the best in students made him a cherished part of the school community.
A devoted parishioner at All Souls Catholic Church and an active member of St. Vincent de Paul, Stephen lived a life of faith and service. He found joy in giving back to others, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement.
Above all, Stephen’s greatest love was his family. He is survived by his wife Cindy Robinson, his children Chanda Wilbur (Steve Wilbur) and Justin Robinson (Xiomara Serna), and his cherished grandchildren Makenzie Robinson, Lindsey Wilbur, Seth Wilbur, Giada Robinson, and Josiah Robinson. To quote one of his grandchildren, “He was a great Papa to all of us. We never once questioned whether or not he loved us. He knew how to spoil his family with love.” He also leaves behind his siblings James Robinson, Danley Otto, Ric Robinson, and Jerry Robinson along with many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Robinson, and his brothers, David and Mike Robinson.
Stephen had a passion for spending time with his family, going on cruises, fishing, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 4pm at All Souls Catholic Church, 810 S Oak Ave, Sanford, Fl 32771. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to All Souls Catholic School in Mr. Steve’s memory.
Though he is no longer with us, his love, wisdom, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Roll Tide, Papa.
