Obituary for Tempie Whittington
Tempie Willing Whittington, 72, of Winter Springs, FL, passed away surrounded by loved
ones on Saturday, April 2, 2022 after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Tempie was born on June 14, 1949, in Salisbury, MD to the late Ethel (Thomas) Willing and
George Edwin Willing. After attending Calvert High School and graduating from Suitland
High School in 1967, she worked as a Statistician for the United States Census Bureau. In
retirement, she continued to work part time for the University of Central Florida Dean’s
Office, along with spending time with her kids, grandkids and family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Holly (JR) Salyards and Heather Curley, and her four
grandsons, Mason, Camden, Grady, and Austin.
Our mother, Tempie, was one of the strongest and most selfless women to ever walk this earth
and our family was blessed to have her. Tempie was a wonderful and loving mother who
gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.
