Obituary for Thaddeus Blaszczak
Thaddeus Edwin Blaszczak was born July 25, 1934 to parents Adam and Pauline Blaszczak, and raised in Schenectady, NY.
After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School, Ted obtained a position with General Electric’s drafting department, where he met, and later married, Patricia Kozlowski. Ted enrolled in General Electric’s Apprentice Program, where he was trained and groomed for management roles. While living in Schenectady and working for G.E., Ted, the consummate handy-man, also repaired tube-TVs and created his own Heathkit stereo system on the kitchen table, with Patricia’s assistance. With Patricia, Ted also raised three children; Deborah, John (deceased), and Michael.
Ted was wooed from General Electric by Westinghouse in 1972 and move his entire family to Coral Springs, Florida. There he worked on developing automation instrumentation and the family enjoyed the southern Florida lifestyle which included trips to the then new Disneyworld complex.
Shortly thereafter, Westinghouse transferred Ted to the Pittsburgh area and he and his family settled in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. Ted worked within Westinghouse to manage joint manufacturing ventures with entities such as Siemens, A.G. His work also took him to Tokyo, Japan, with Patricia and son, Michael, for four years where he also directed joint ventures with Mitsubishi and Kawasaki.
After returning to the Pittsburgh area, and seeing all the chicks having flown the coop, Ted accepted a transfer to the Orlando, Florida area, where he and Patricia settled in Winter Springs. When retirement became an option, Ted and Patricia elected to remain in sunny Florida where they have lived for the past 26 years.
Ted passed away on June 19th, 2019 after living a long, full life. He is survived by wife Patricia Blaszczak, daughter Deborah Hartine, and son Michael (+Elizabeth) Blaszczak.
