Violet Marie Mattusch, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 09, 2018 surrounded by family and loved ones at her home in Sanford, FL.
Violet Marie Mattusch (Kessler) was born on July 31, 1937 in Aberdeen, SD one of four children to Mike & Ida Kessler. She grew up in Davenport, IA and moved to Florida in 1986. Violet married Robert Schlemmer in 1955 and was soon blessed with three children. She divorced in 1958.
Violet spoke her mind. Never one to sugar coat an issue, but rather deal with it head on and with full force. She was a skilled shopper and would always get the most for every dollar spent. She worked hard throughout her life to support her children, taking on multiple and varied jobs. Believed in making it on her own and guarded her independence.
Violet is reunited with those who have gone before her: Her mother & father, Mike and Ida Kessler. Her brother, Larry Kessler, sister Deloris Wilson & her husband John, sister Darlene Fitzer, and her daughter Vickey Hoak.
She is survived by her children: Theresa Stogdill , Bernie Schlemmer and his wife Mary. Her Grandchildren: Terri Lynn Guerra, Marci Hoak, Travis Stogdill, Deni Schlemmer, Jason Richards, Willard Rathjen, Shawn Rathjen and his wife Cassandra. 12 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
Violet Mattusch was adored and respected. She will be remembered with much love, warmth and laughter.
