Obituary for Virginia Colene Ward
Virginia "Colene" Ward, aged 90, went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2023. Born and raised in Winter Park, Florida, Colene's vibrant spirit led her to be a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen at Winter Park High School. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Benjamin F. Ward, Jr., and they made their home in Oviedo, Florida.
Colene devoted her life to raising her five children: Marty (preceded in death, survived by his wife Eleanore), Sharyn, Calvin (Jenny), Denene (Mike), and Shelley. She also leaves behind a legacy of nine adoring grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Known for her kind, gentle soul, Colene's beauty and grace were her hallmark, her focus always being her beloved family. A dedicated homemaker, Colene was the heart and soul of her family.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on June 12 at the Oviedo Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Tuscawilla Country Club from 11-2. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Oviedo Historical Society in memory of Colene.
