Obituary for Warren B. Williams

Warren Brooks Williams, 80, of Orlando, FL, died March 1, 2023, at the Kissimmee Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Kissimmee, FL.

Warren was born in Pittsburg, PA, the only child to the late Nathaniel and Ruth B (Brooks) Williams. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otis and Etta Williams, his uncles, Lawrence, Percy, Leon, Leandrew, Alexander, and his aunts Mildred, Ethel, Mary, Wilma, Johnetta, Arzola.

After graduating from high school, Warren joined the United States Navy assigned to the USS Saratoga CVA-60. When he was discharged from the military, Warren drove big rigs across the country for more than 30 years with the NEMA Corporation of Duluth GA. Warren was also a licensed minister, first at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church presiding under Reverend Alfred Murray and later as an Associate Minister at Bethel Grove Baptist Chruch under Reverend Theodis Bell. Everyone who met Warren loved him for his jokes, ministry, and conversation. Whenever there was a family reunion or other events, you would find him either at the grill, the deep fryer, or the pulpit doing what he did best.

Warren met and married Mildred Benitez-Williams in Rochester, NY in 1977.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Benitez) Williams, his son, Jamal Williams, his daughter, Nadia Brooks (Andre), three grandchildren, Nahjadah, Nahjai, Nahmir, his uncle, Tyree Williams (Betty), Aunts Margaret Williams (Leon), Margaret Williams (Alexander), and Connie Williams (Leandrew), his lifelong friend and co-worker, Reginald Pope of GA, his niece Monica of FL, and and many first, second, and third cousins and friends throughout these United States.

Warren’s going away service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Banfield Funeral Home, 420 West State Road 434, Winter Springs, FL 32708. The viewing will be at 12 noon, followed by the service at 2:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served during the viewing.
