Obituary for Wayne E. Martin, Sr.
Wayne E. Martin, Sr. of Oviedo, Florida passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. He was 95 years young. Born on September 18, 1924, on a farm in Roanoke, Illinois. A decorated World War II veteran serving on the USS Minneapolis and successful Entrepreneur. Wayne was the loving husband of Eleanor Glickfield; devoted father to Wayne, Jr. (Hope) and Pamela; dearest sisters Dorothy (William Sauder) and Marjorie (Robert Rebec) and bothers to Lewis (Ruth), Howard (Irene), Bob (Lois), Eugene (Mardell) and Johnny. A cherished grandfather to Tara (Brian McFarland) and Katherine Doane; and great grandfather to 7 great grandchildren. He retired in 1980 in Palm Springs, California before moving to Oviedo, Florida to be with his family. He was an accomplished poetic writer and enjoyed golfing, boxing and spending time with his family. He was a man of God and spread kindness and words of wisdom to everyone he touched. He will be truly missed by many.
