Obituary for Willa Mae Koehn Carrier
Willa Mae Koehn Carrier passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006.

Mrs. Carrier was affiliated with the Orlando Opera Company since 1972, as former Company President as well as Production Manager. She earned her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Mary Hardin Baylor College in Texas and her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She then returned to teach piano at Mary Hardin Baylor College.

Following her teaching career at Mary Hardin Baylor, Mrs. Carrier toured and concertized extensively in the United States. She also performed as part of a 25,000 mile USO concert tour covering the Caribbean Islands, South America and the Ascension Islands for a period of six months.

She is the Past President of the Friday Morning Music Club of Washington, D.C. and former Director of the Washington International Competition for Young Artists.

She was preceded in death by husbands Paul F. Koehn in 1977 and Samuel C. Carrier, Jr. in 2001. She is survived by son Paul F. Kane, Staten Island, NY; daughter Candace K. Murray, Orlando, FL; and three grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, May 28th at 3:00 PM at the John Knox Village Activities Center building at 901 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Orange City, FL 32763.  Immediately following the service the family invites you to a dinner at the Hilton Garden Inn at 1959 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32826.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 988 Woodcock Rd., Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32803-3715 in memory of Willa Mae Koehn Carrier.
