Obituary for William Paul Baumstark

William (Bill) Baumstark was born December 12th 1941. He was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania into a German American household 5 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He entered the Navy at the young age of 17 in June of 1959. He left the Navy in March of 1961 and had big dreams of moving to California to be a movie producer or director. He set those dreams aside when he fell in love with Palmina Perna and had two beautiful daughters.

Bill could be described as a man who had a very gruff, opinionated, and stubborn exterior; but, to those who knew him best, he had a heart of gold. Bill would always try to help those in need. He lived a very simple life. Bill worked in construction and in the trucking industry which gave him an opportunity to travel the United States as he dreamed of when he was younger. He had endless stories of his travels as a trucker. One of his favorite things to collect was Hess trucks which his daughters made sure they ordered each time a new one came out. Life wasn’t always easy, but he worked hard to make sure that his family always had what they needed. Bill loved John Wayne movies because it brought him back to a time when life was simple and fun. He liked to collect pocket watches and was always trying to make sure that everyone made it to work, school or wherever they needed to go on time. TV gave him comfort in his later years and one of his favorite things to watch was movies on the Hallmark channel.

Bill’s wife Palmina went home to our lord on August 20, 2020. Today he is survived by his daughters Jackie Cobb and Kathy Wills, son-in-law Bill Wills, grandchildren Jamie Corns, Jennifer Corns, Jeremy Cobb, Jeffrey Cobb, Jose Diaz, Brandon Ohlarik and Montana Ohlarik, great grand children Aidan Corns, Taylor Corns, Austin Corns, Carter Corns, Julian Diaz, Josiah Diaz, brothers John and Robert, sisters Mary and Suzie and many nieces and nephews. Although his daughters were divorced from the men who are the fathers of his grandchildren, Bill was fond of Eddie Corns and Jeff Cobb.

We thank him for the memories and everything he taught us. His work is done. Through us, his spirit will be kept alive, and his many teachings will be passed down and live forever. We rejoice, because he is reunited with his love Palmina, his parents, his siblings Richard and Betty and all of those that passed before him. He will be watching over us for eternity. We miss you greatly Dad, not goodbye, but until we meet again.

Rest in Peace. We Love You!
