William Robert Schult, affectionately known by his high school students as ”Schult,” passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 14th, at the age of 50 years, at his home in Oviedo, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Nichol, his children Robin and Roxi, his brother James Schult and his wife Heather, sister Karin Alley and husband Bobby, and his parents, Bob and Jane Schult. He also has three nieces and two nephews, Chloe, Nora, and Bailey, Payton, and Jonah.
Bill attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, and graduated with a dual major of music and education. He also earned a masters degree in educational leadership from Stetson University, while living and working in Florida.
After graduation Bill taught choir at Clarksville High School for 3 years and went to Florida to teach at Oviedo High School, where he has taught for 20 years. He was currently teaching beginning choir, 3 audition choirs, a piano class, and music technology. Bill was greatly appreciated by his many students, his choir sang regularly at Candlelight at Disney World, and had several concerts every year at the high school. He loved his work and enjoyed his students, and guiding them to achieve their full potential was very important to him.
There was a gathering on Monday, May 15th, at Oviedo on the Park. Another gathering is planned at Oviedo High School on Tuesday, May 23rd, beginning with senior choir awards at 12 PM, and continuing with Celebrating of the Life of Bill Schult at 1 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Bill Schult Memorial Scholarship Fund, at GoFundMe online, would be greatly appreciated.
