Obituary for Wilmar Cuenca
Wilmar Cuenca Ramirez, 67, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 after a fearless battle against cancer for the past three and half years. An optimist to his core, Wilmar passed away surrounded by his loving family.
Wilmar was born in Tulua, Colombia to Lida Ramirez and Simon Cuenca on July 14th, 1953. The second eldest of the family, Wilmar was a brother to Gloria, Diego and Rosario “Charo” Cuenca, all of whom he loved deeply. He grew up in Cali, Colombia and graduated from Universidad del Valle with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 1988. He met his beloved wife, Olga Lucia, in 1976, after which point they became inseparable.Their more than 40-year union set a lasting example of love, encouragement and the power of a positive attitude toward life’s challenges to all who surrounded them.
Wilmar was a devoted father to his children, Natalia and Simon, both of whom he loved endlessly. He was their #1 fan and biggest supporter. It was impossible to know Wilmar and not know about his children or wife; they were truly his pride and joy.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the service in Wilmar’s honor at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 8th, 2020 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (4545 Anderson Rd, Orlando, FL 32812).
The Cuenca Gonzalez family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all friends and relatives for the outpouring of support and solidarity they have received during this difficult season.
Wilmar Cuenca Ramirez, 67 años, de Orlando, Florida, volo muy alto hacia su NIRVANA el Domingo, Julio 26, 2020 después de vivir un proceso de sanacion de cancer de colon, durante los ultimos tres años y medio. Un optimista sin igual y luz de positividad para todos, Wilmar falleció rodeado por su esposa y sus hijos.
Wilmar nació en Tuluá, Colombia en Julio 14, 1953. Hijo de Lida Ramirez y Simon Cuenca, Wilmar fue hermano de Gloria, Diego y Rosario “Charo” Cuenca, a quienes quería profundamente. Se crió en Cali, Colombia y se graduó de la Universidad del Valle en 1988. En 1976 conoció a su querida esposa, Olga Lucia, y desde entonces fueron inseparables. La unión de ellos, de más de 40 años, fue un ejemplo de amor, entusiasmo, fe y el poder de una actitud positiva frente a la vida.
Wilmar fue un padre increíblemente dedicado a sus hijos - Natalia y Simón, de los cuales siempre se sintió orgulloso y a quienes les brindó infinito apoyo y amor. Era imposible conocer a Wilmar y no saber acerca de su esposa e hijos - los tres eran la luz de su vida.
Amigos y familia, están invitados a una ceremonia religiosa en honor de Wilmar, el Sábado, Agosto 8/2020 a las 11 AM en la parroquia Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (4545 Anderson Rd, Orlando, FL 32812).
