74, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, spiritual leader and dedicated veteran. Jack passed away peacefully under the hospice care of Vitas of Central Florida. Jack lived much of his early childhood in northeast Texas, in and around Carthage, TX. As a graduate of the Airforce Academy in Colorado Springs, Jack’s 13-year military career included service as an officer and pilot in the Vietnam War. He earned many accommodations including a Bronze Star. Jack graduated law school at Mercer University in Macon, GA. He was a plaintiff’s trial attorney. He retired from his esteemed legal career when he was 62-years old. Towards the end of his law career, he became a Practitioner in the Center for Spiritual Living. After retirement, he became most popular with his grandchildren as he enjoyed part-time work with Disney World in Orlando, FL.

Jack leaves behind his devoted wife of 31 years, Mary Christine “Chris” Bowen. Other survivors include his son Robert Bowen of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; son William Scott “Silver” Bowen of Austin, TX; stepson Joe Vogeley of Debary, FL; stepdaughter Cheryl Hamilton Fried of Winchester, VA; grandchildren Angela Penders, Audrey Hamilton, Hannah Vogeley, Kyle Bowen, Presley Bowen; brother Ronald Ray Bowen; sister Edythe Elizabeth “Beth” Smith; sister Rebecca Sue “Becky” Bowen; and his cherished canine companion Iggy. He his is proceeded by his parents Jack and Lucille Porter “Nona” Bowen and sister Debra Jean “Debbie” Bradshaw. He leaves behind scores of heartbroken cousins, nieces, nephews, including his Aunt Jean Porter and Uncle Homer (Pat) Porter in Carthage, friends and colleagues from the Air Force, legal society, spiritual world, entertainment industry, gaming and Cowboy football fandom, all of whom will forever remember his quiet wit, compassion, intellect and ethical compass.

Jack will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at Maitland Community Park, 1400 Mayo Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751 at 2:00pm on November 13, 2021. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, Chris requests donations to either of Jack’s favorite causes: The Central Florida Center for Spiritual Living, P.O. Box 940310, Maitland, FL 32794-0310 and/or the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, 1521 W. Washington Street, Orlando, FL 32805-3280.
