Daniel Matthew Lampert, 61, of Orlando, Florida, passed away September 24, 2025. Born in Berkeley, California, he lived in Central Florida most of his life. In 1982, he created the first authoring software for Apple computers, which inspired HyperCard for the Apple Macintosh in 1984 and the proposal for the World Wide Web in 1990. He continued to work in the software industry all his life. Dan was also an avid dancer, including ballroom, swing, tandem, and other styles, performed stand-up comedy, played guitar and piano, and enjoyed supporting other musicians in the Orlando area. His big passions were philosophy and the human condition. He was a motivational speaker and led the Orlando Stoics group as well as contributing to the Interfaith Council of Central Florida and the Central Florida Freethought Community.
He will be forever loved and remembered. He is survived by his mother, Eva-Maria, his brother, David, his sister-in-law, Melania, and his niece, Livyanna.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 2 pm at the Banfield Funeral Home, 420 W. State Road 434, Winter Springs, FL 32708. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Doctors Without Borders.
